Derek Monjure

Interim Head of School

Junior Thesis

Derek Monjure first entered education in the early 1990s after having earned an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of New Orleans and a Masters in Education from Jacksonville State University. Taking a break from education, Derek worked as a project manager for fifteen years at AT&T, Lucent, and Presidio. Derek serves on the board of academic advisors for Classic Learning Initiatives and on the board of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in downtown Atlanta. As the co-founder of Arete Scholars Fund, he has overseen the raising and distributing of over forty million dollars in scholarships to families in financial need. Derek is a founding board member of Oak Hill Classical School. He is married to Christy and their oldest son was a member of Oak Hill's first graduating class. Christy and Derek currently have four children attending Oak Hill.


LeeAnn McCaig

Grammar School Head of School

LeeAnn McCaig has worked at Oak Hill for ten years. Her first position was running childcare for our faculty and staff. She then taught first grade for a year. For the last eight years LeeAnn taught 5th grade and now serves as the Grammar School Head.  LeeAnn earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Interpersonal Communication from Covenant College. She was able to utilize both as a social worker and as a construction project manager. After staying home with her children, LeeAnn changed careers and began Master’s work in Special Education. During this pursuit she stumbled upon and fell in love with classical education. One of her great joys is to help families grow their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, disciplining and teaching them to recognize truth, goodness and beauty. She and her husband Brent have three children, a daughter in college and two sons in high school.

Tyler Godwin

Tyler Godwin joined Oak Hill Classical School in August of 2017.  While at Oak Hill, he manages day to day operations, the front desk, and coaches the swim team.  Tyler earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Delta State University where he swam collegiately, but more importantly, met his wife of 11 years Ashley.  Following Delta State, Tyler served as the intramural and activities director for Rust College before being called to Reformed Theological Seminary where he earned his Masters of Divinity.  Tyler has served as a youth pastor and coached for club teams including the Mississippi Makos, PEAQ, and Memphis Thunder. Before coming to Oak Hill, he managed the aquatics department, front desk, and payroll for the Madison Healthplex and Performance Center.  Tyler, Ashley, and their son Ezra reside in Dacula and are members of Restoration Presbyterian Church where Tyler and Ashley serve as small group leaders in the youth group. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family, reading about all sorts of boring historical and theological minutia, and playing disc golf professionally.

Hannah Grey

Dean of Student Life, Athletics Director, Head Track & Field Coach

Hannah Grey has served as a teacher and administrator at Oak Hill for 4 years. Before coming to Oak Hill, she taught in public and private schools for several years in Virginia. She earned her undergraduate degree in Secondary Math Education from Emmanuel College, where she attended on a basketball scholarship, and her Master's Degree from Liberty University in Sport Management. She currently serves as the school's athletic director and Dean of Student Life and track coach. She and her husband Seth of 13 years have 4 children who attend Oak Hill. Chase is a rising 5th grader, Charlie a rising 3rd grader, and Sydney and Savannah are rising 1st graders. They welcomed their 5th child, Cash, this summer.

Jamie Cain

Jamie has been involved in education since he graduated Emmanuel College (B.A., English) in 1995, first as an English instructor and admissions officer. After completing an M.A. in English from the University of Georgia he spent five years in the publishing industry before returning to education. In 2007 he became headmaster of Oak Hill (then Dominion Classical Christian Academy) and moved to his current position in 2019. He completed an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at Covenant College in 2013. In addition to his work at Oak Hill, Mr. Cain is a writer and editor, and he currently serves as Senior Editor of Forma Journal. He has written for Relevant, In Touch, Classis, Christ and Pop Culture, and the Circe Institute. He is married to Kristi, and they have three children, all of whom attend Oak Hill.

Maya Buxton

Student Records/ Registrar

Maya Buxton graduated with a degree in psychology from Jacksonville State University and has been interested in private and homeschool Christian education since she became a mom in 2000.  She has had a varied professional background from physician's assistant in a psychiatric ward to office manager in an IT consulting firm.  She learned about classical education when she homeschooled and was happy to find Oak Hill Classical School (then Dominion Christian Classical Academy).  She started at Oak Hill as an aide for the Arrowsmith Learning program in 2011 and after three years moved into an administrative role supporting the Head Master, upper School teachers, and school records and college and career.  She loves to garden, read and spend time at the beach.  She is married to Charles Buxton and has two daughters and their family attends Gwinnett Church.    

Ruth Knuteson

Administrative Assistant/ Reception

Ruth Knuteson's love for excellent education began with undergraduate studies focused on it, then grew as she served as a preschool teacher at a Christian school, and later homeschooled her own children using a Classical curriculum. With private sector experience in administrative, customer service and sales positions, Ruth brings a unique blend of project management, hospitality and organizational planning skills to her position as an Administrative Assistant and Receptionist for Oak Hill. Ruth is married to Scott, and their three school-aged children are enrolled at Oak Hill, with the fourth eagerly awaiting his turn. Their family attends NewBranch Community Church.

Christy Monjure

Admissions Director, Track & Field Assistant Coach

Before she left the corporate world to raise her children, Christy Monjure worked in Human Resources and Computer Training for several companies, the final being Ryder Transportation Services and Integrated Logistics. Christy and her husband, Derek, along with another couple, dreamed of starting a classical Christian school in the Gwinnett County area, and in the fall of 2006, she joined the inaugural faculty and staff of Oak Hill Classical School, then Dominion Classical Christian Academy. Since that time, she has held many roles in and out of the classroom, with the most recent being Admissions Director. She attended Auburn University studying Business and Journalism. She and her husband, Derek, have five children, four of whom are at Oak Hill, with the eldest being one of Oak Hill's inaugural graduates.

Jeri Hanson

K4 Teacher

Jeri Hanson has worked with 4 year olds for 16 years.  For 4 years, she served as Teacher's Assistant at Rolling Hills Preschool before coming to Oak Hill as K-4 Assistant.  She has been K-4 Teacher at Oak Hill for 12 years. The Lord has given her a heart for little ones and she is amazed at their capacity and excitement for learning and memorizing! Jeri and Michael have been married for 20 years.  They have an 18 year old daughter, Alyssa, who is a Freshmen at UGA.

Kim Roberts

Kindergarten Lead Teacher- Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Kim Roberts graduated from Covenant College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  She taught first grade for 4 years, 2 of those years involved a transition classroom for children with mild to moderate learning and behavioral disabilities.  After becoming a mom, she stayed home with her children. During that time, she did private tutoring and was a tutor for a homeschool group. Kim and her husband, Josef have been married for 17 years and they have 4 children.  All of their children attend Oak Hill. Kim has taught second grade at Oak Hill and presently teaches kindergarten. In her spare time, she enjoys crossfit, reading and cooking and baking.

Jennifer Downs

Kindergarten Teacher- Tuesday, Thursday

Mrs. Jennifer Downs graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition.  She worked as a registered dietitian for three years before staying home to raise her three children. She has taught Kindergarten at Oak Hill for the last  seven years. She enjoys reading and spending most of the summer at the beach with her family. She and her husband, Kevin, have 3 children, Thomas, Claire, and Katie. She and her family are active members of Restoration Presbyterian Church in Buford.

Susan Rucker

First Grade Teacher

Susan Rucker has been teaching at Oak Hill for 8 years. She is currently teaching 1st grade. Susan earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Auburn University. She taught in Plano, Texas, for three years and Cobb County for 2 1/2 years, before staying home to raise her four boys. She returned to the classroom (at Oak Hill) when her oldest was a senior in high school. Susan's husband, Ken, is pastor of New Branch Community Church and currently serves as board chair at Oak Hill. Their oldest son, Awbrey, lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama. Andrew, their second, serves the army in the 75th Ranger Regiment and is stationed in Savannah, Georgia. The youngest two, twins David and Jonathan, will graduate from Oak Hill in 2020.

Elyse Crabtree

First Grade Aide

Elyse Crabtree graduated from Taylor University in Indiana with an undergraduate degree in Communications and focus on Public Relations. She has a background in Insurance services before becoming a mom. She is married to Brian, and  together they have raised triplets (now 19)  and  a middle school son. During this time, she taught ESOL to Latino students and adults and also served as a crisis pregnancy counselor.  Recently, she worked as a preschool teacher at North Metro and is now serving as the assistant to Susan in first grade. 

Sandy Beck

Second Grade Teacher

Sandy Beck earned an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in 1986 at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She taught second grade in Guilford County, North Carolina, for five years and taught first grade in Caswell County, North Carolina, for twenty years. She earned a Masters in Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2006 from Averett University in Danville, Virginia. She also holds an associate degree in business from Emmanuel College. She is married to Joe who pastored Pentecostal Holiness churches in North Carolina and Virginia before moving to Georgia in 2015 to be close to their daughter Kristi, son-in-law Jamie, and three grandchildren. Sandy and Joe also have a son Scott and daughter-in-law Kelli who live in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Sandy loves reading, spending time with her family, and teaching young children. She became familiar and very impressed with classical education after moving to Georgia and feels very thankful to have the opportunity to teach second grade at Oak Hill Classical School.

Stephanie Ammons

Stephanie Ammons received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College in 1998. She taught 2nd grade for two years in Charleston, SC. She has been a part of the Oak Hill community since 2007. She taught K4 for one year and Kindergarten for 8 years. Stephanie attends Restoration Presbyterian with her husband, Shane and children, Emily, Grace, Micah, Josiah and Spencer.

Laura DiGioia

Fourth Grade Teacher/ Head Archery Coach

Laura DiGioia graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with an undergraduate degree in English Education. Ms. DiGioia has experience teaching, tutoring, and volunteering with students all the way from the elementary to the college level, including experience as a summer camp counselor and environmental educator. Ms. DiGioia joined Oak Hill in the fall of 2018 as the fourth-grade teacher and Oak Hill’s archery coach. She enjoys being outdoors, camping, reading, writing, and spending time with friends as well as her parents, siblings, and nephew.

Aleta Landers

Fifth Grade Teacher

Aleta Landers holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. She also has a Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy Instruction from Walden University and an ESOL endorsement from the state of Georgia. Mrs. Landers has taught in public and private schools in kindergarten through eighth grade.  Joining the Oak Hill faculty in 2013, Mrs. Landers continues to enjoy learning classically alongside her students and colleagues. Mrs. Landers and her husband, Mark, have three grown children and two grandchildren. Dean (Margaret, Judah and new baby in September) Landers, KatieRuth (Dan with new baby due in January) Tucker, and Ellie Landers. All the Landers enjoy traveling, hiking, and reading good books together.

Heather Johnson

After graduating from Toccoa Falls College with a degree in history and a secondary education certification, Heather Johnson taught middle school history and drama for two years. She then spent the next ten years serving as a missionary with Trans World Radio alongside her husband Chris. Heather came to Oak Hill Classical School in 2014 when her family moved to Georgia. Chris and Heather, along with their three sons, are actively involved with their church community, as well as, serving in and advocating for foster care ministry.

Mamta Singh

7th & 8th Grade Science

Biology, Chemistry, Physics

Mamta Singh received a Bachelor’s Degree in molecular biology and Master of Arts in Science Education from East Carolina University. She worked for Glaxo Inc. doing research on asthma and then worked for SeaLite Sciences using bioluminescence to develop kits for the detection of human hormones. She also spent eight years in Asia doing Christian missionary work. Mamta is married to Moses and they have two daughters, Megha and Manvi who are in college. Their family goal is to have a positive impact in their community.

She has taught science for fifteen years. She attained her national board certification in chemistry for adolescent and young adults. She was a professor of chemistry in New York until she moved to Georgia in the summer of 2019 and joined the Oak Hill community.

Rebecca Ziegler

Prior to taking a work sabbatical to raise her four children, Rebecca served as the primary high school Mathematics Instructor at Cono Christian School in Quasqueton, Iowa.  At Cono, she taught each level of upper school mathematics, mentored middle school math teachers, and introduced an Advanced Placement curriculum in Calculus.  Rebecca earned her Master of Science in Mathematics at The University of Iowa (2000) after completing a two year academic fellowship. She joined Oak Hill in 2018.
Rebecca delights in a broad range of liberal arts interests, from the sciences to the arts, having graduated from Belhaven College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics along with a minor in ballet. She, her husband Steve, and their family live in Lawrenceville.

Holli Gray

Sixth Grade Math & Science

After graduating from The University of Mississippi in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics education, Holli Gray went on to marry her husband, Nathan, of 8 years. From there she stayed at home to raise her boys in their hectic military life. Her family was involved in building a children and youth group ministry at a small church in Reedsburg, Wisconsin from 2012 to 2014. In 2015, her family was sent to Georgia where she grew up and this is where her family has settled. Since becoming a military wife, Holli has been involved with private tutoring and homeschooling groups. In Holli’s spare time she enjoys playing her flute and spending time with her children. Both Clayton and Chandler attend Oak Hill! Holli loves the community and family atmosphere at Oak Hill and looks forward to experiencing what God has planned as she begins her teaching career!

Alyssa Luttjohann graduated from Wheaton College with degrees in Political Science and French.  After graduating, she worked for the Federalist Society in Washington, D.C. where she helped promote ideas of judicial restraint and strict reading of the Constitution, as well as studying the trend toward global governance and its effect on American sovereignty.  After moving to Georgia, she was the director of operations at a student scholarship organization and for the past 6 1/2 years, has been a stay-at-home mom.  She and her husband, Jarrod, have 3 kids, two of whom are currently at Oak Hill.  In her free time, Alyssa enjoys knitting, reading and music.

Mike Butler

Mike Butler has taught at Oak Hill for seven years. Prior to joining the Oak Hill faculty, he was the Resident Scholar of the Southern California Center for Christian Studies and taught at several institutions including Christ College, Christ Theological Seminary, and Tall Oaks Classical School. He has a Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and History and a Master’s in Philosophy (Claremont Graduate University). Mike and his wife Julie have seven children whose ages range between three to twenty. 

Jessica Deagle

Junior Thesis, Rhetoric I, Spanish I

Jessica Deagle is a graduate of Berry College where she received a BS in Biology. After a brief stint studying abroad in Spain she also received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Emory University and holds an honorary doctorate from Universidad Mariano Galvez. Following graduation from Emory, Jessica moved to Honduras where she opened a rural clinic to serve the people of the Copan region. There she met her husband and joined him in his call to full time ministry. After pastoring in Virginia for 12 years, William and Jessica moved to Georgia (Jessica's original home).  For 9 years Jessica homeschooled their three children who are now all enrolled at Oak Hill. Jessica has served as a Classical Education Practicum instructor for Classical Conversations. She is a certified writing instructor through the Institute for Excellence in Writing and has served as a guest lecturer in Rhetoric at the College of William and Mary. Two years ago, Jessica joined Oak Hill's staff as a fourth grade teacher and currently teaches Latin and Physical Science in the logic school. In addition to teaching and homemaking, she often joins her husband on ministry trips to Guatemala where they oversee a missions hospital in San Benito, Peten.  Jessica has a love of learning and in her free time she can be found reading, drinking tea or watching British dramas at home.

Brian Livingston

Intro to Computers

Brian studied computer science at Georgia Tech before transferring to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned his Bachelors degree in Christian Ministry and Masters of Divinity. He has served as a Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor and Associate Pastor in several churches around the country. He has also served as Director of Family and Community Ministries at a homeless shelter in Texas. He and His wife, Michelle are also certified members of the John Maxwell Leadership Team and love using that role to add value to others and see them grow in their influence. Brian and Michelle have three boys, two of which are students at Oak Hill and the third is looking forward to starting in 4K next year. 

Laura Mattison

Physical Education Teacher

Laura Mattison graduated from Berry College in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science where she was also a four-year member of the women's basketball team. She holds a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Strength and Conditioning from Armstrong State University. Laura has worked in the fitness industry since 2011 as a strength coach, group fitness trainer, and youth fitness coach. Laura joined the staff at Oak Hill in 2017, bringing her knowledge of human movement and fitness to the physical education program. She believes physical literacy is an integral part of a holistic education. She also serves as the Logic School girls basketball coach. 

Laura is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, CrossFit Kids Trainer, and BIRTHFIT Coach. She and her husband Blake welcomed their first child, Caleb in July of 2019. 

Heather McAllister

Music Teacher

Heather McAllister earned a Bachelors in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance from Toccoa Falls College in 2009. She then worked at Perimeter Christian school for 6 years as their music director for the middle school musicals, directed 7th & 8th grade chorus and was the Administrative assistant for their school of the arts while teaching vocal and piano lessons. She has been at Oak Hill for two years and currently teaches general music to K4-5th grade. She also loves serving on the worship team at Restoration Presbyterian by playing piano or singing and enjoys long distance running in her spare time. Heather is married to Cameron and they have two children, Dylan and Olivia, in the staff childcare program at Oak Hill.
